𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼

Like last year, I plan on depositing additional funds into my portfolio on the 1st of May 2026. You can choose to add funds yourself, or take no action and eToro’s algorithm will automatically re-sync your copy to my portfolio.

𝙒𝙝𝙮?

I believe adding funds annually to my account demonstrates my commitment to eToro and my copiers because it ensures my incentives are fully aligned with my copiers. In short, I want to put my money where my mouth is, and maintain eToro as my largest investment portfolio.

As we all know, compounding growth is extremely powerful, and adding funds to your investment portfolio’s consistently with a long-term investment outlook is one of the best ways to achieve long-term returns.

The recent volatility caused by the conflict in the middle east could provide fantastic opportunities for investors willing to deploy capital, so I want to make sure I have funds available to take advantage.

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣?

I will be adding funds on the 1st of May but won’t invest it into new positions until the 3rd of May at the earliest.

This allows time for copiers to also add funds proportionally if they want to, maintaining perfect synchronization with my portfolio without any re-synchronization.

𝘾𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨

As a copier you have 3 options when I add funds:

𝟏. 𝑫𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈

After a couple of days your portfolio will automatically re-sync to mine, closing positions if necessary and opening new ones. This isn’t the optimal option because you may incur some spread fees, but these are low and would only make a negligible difference to the full-year performance of the copy.

𝟐. 𝑨𝒅𝒅 𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

If you add funds proportionate to my deposit within a couple of days of me doing it, your portfolio won’t need to re-sync. This option is recommended, especially if your total copy amount is below the recommended minimum copy amount of $1000.

𝟑. 𝑨𝒅𝒅 𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆, 𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈

This option may result in some automatic portfolio resynchronization, but might be more appropriate if you want to be more aggressive and add more funds, or if you don’t have enough funds to copy with the full amount, but still want to increase your exposure to markets.

There are no bad options, but as mentioned, it’s worth double checking that your copy amount is at least $1000 because this is required to ensure you are able to copy all positions in the portfolio.
